Mission
An ever-evolving network of artists working between disciplines, Dizzying provides a space to blur genres, take risks, and be strange. Dizzying advances experimental performance in the San Francisco Bay Area, presenting original works by artistic director Maria Silk as well as work by other experimental artists. With a focus on Bay Area-based queer and trans artists, Dizzying also brings touring artists to the Bay, encouraging connections between the Bay Area and other experimental performance scenes.
Dizzying is the evolution of the organization HUSH-HUSH, which provided a platform for emerging queer and trans artists producing experimental work in the Bay Area from 2017 to 2020. HUSH-HUSH was organized and curated by Maria Silk with writer Brittany Newell.
